Frances Townsend

Frances F. Townsend has a well-decorated background. In her current role at Activision Blizzard, she has served as Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer since March 2021. Her role encompasses many responsibilities including overseeing Government Affairs, Public Policy, and Communications, among many others.

Before taking her place at Activision Blizzard, she was Vice Chairman, general counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer at MacAndrews & Forbes, Inc. She also spent time serving the country from 2004 to 2008 when she was the assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism to President George W. Bush. Previous work also includes other notable accomplishments such as corporate partner at Baker Botts LLP, 13 years in the US Department of Justice, and numerous awards won for public service accomplishments.

Ms. Townsend also serves as Chairperson on the Board of Directors at Chubb limited. There she brings well regarded legal experience and also holds valuable expertise in government, public policy, and regulations. Her strong background in domestic and international affairs, risk management, strategic planning, and intelligence and security matters provide immense value to her position. Ms. Townsend also has significant leadership experience through her various senior roles in the U.S. government, including as chair of the U.S. Homeland Security Council. Ms. Townsend’s public board experience contributes to her value as a director.

Fran is also very committed to philanthropic work. This is best showcased by her position on several non-profit boards including the Council on Foreign Relations, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the Atlantic Council.
